About my workshop location

My Studio Six workshop is located near Strontian.  Strontian is situated at the head of Loch Sunart on the Ardnamurchan penninsula.  It gave the element Strontium it’s name having been identified in the granite hills above the village in 1790.

The population is rising but stands at about 450 folks. The village stretches out towards Acharacle and over to Loch Shiel past magnificent mountain scenery with wildlife abounding.  You may even catch a rare sight of a Golden or white tailed Sea eagle and fishing otter.  Ardnamurchan is a stronghold for the pine martin which can very often be seen in wooded areas.   There are few restrictions and there is unhindered access to rural and coastal walks.  A nature reserve at Ariundle allows for beautiful woodland walking and mountain biking.

In the village of Strontian there is a mini market and a post office and general store.  The former is the last place you can purchase fuel as you go west down the peninsula towards Ardnamurchan Point.  There is also a small craft outlet/tourist information next to the mini market called Oakwood where I sell some of my work.

Studio Six is not routinely open to the general public, however if you are calling regarding a commission or a class a visit  can be arranged by emailing me at: jean@studiosix.co.uk or by phone on 07876610423
